Inspire Therapy

NEW PATIENT Appointment Appointment Request What is Inspire® therapy? Inspire therapy is a mask-free1 solution for people with obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) who have triedand struggled with CPAP. Through a simple-to-use system including the Inspire® implant, Inspire™remote and Inspire® app, Inspire therapy enables you to control your OSA treatment from the palm ofyour hand. How does Inspire therapy work?During sleep, your tongue relaxes. For people with OSA, your tongue relaxes into a position that blocksyour airway. While other OSA therapies use a hose and mask to force air through your airway, the Inspireimplant works comfortably2 inside your body to sense when you take a breath. Then, it delivers gentlepulses that move your tongue forward to keep your airway open, helping you breathe regularly andsleep soundly. Simply use the small handheld Inspire® remote to turn your therapy on when you’re readyto sleep.

Multiple Sleep Latency Test (MSLT) Maintenance Wakefulness Test (MWT) Titration of Constant Positive Airway Pressure (CPAP TIT)
CPAP Therapy

NEW PATIENT Appointment What is CPAP Therapy? How It Treats Obstructive Sleep Apnea Continuous Positive Airway Pressure (CPAP) is the gold standard for treating obstructive sleep apnea (OSA). By delivering a steady stream of pressurized air through a custom-fitted mask, a CPAP machine keeps your airways open throughout the night. This effective sleep apnea treatment eliminates breathing interruptions, stops loud snoring, and prevents the gasping or choking sounds that disrupt your rest.
Home Sleep Testing

NEW PATIENT Appointment Home Sleep Apnea Testing (HST) at Somnus Sleep Center Are you struggling with loud snoring, morning headaches, or persistent daytime fatigue? You may be one of the millions of adults living with undiagnosed Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA). At Somnus Sleep Center, we offer Home Sleep Apnea Testing (HST)—a convenient, clinically-proven diagnostic tool designed for patients at high risk for sleep-disordered breathing. Why Choose a Home Sleep Study? A home sleep study allows our specialists to gather vital data about your breathing patterns from the comfort of your own bedroom. By choosing an HST, you benefit from: Maximum Comfort: There’s no need to travel or stay overnight in a clinic. You sleep in your own bed, on your own schedule. Natural Results: Testing in your typical environment often leads to a more accurate representation of your nightly sleep habits. Portable Technology: Modern diagnostic equipment is small, non-invasive, and easy to set up yourself. What to Expect from Your HST While home testing is a flexible and effective first step, it is a specific diagnostic tool with a clear role in your care: 1. Professional Analysis Your data isn’t just processed by a computer. Every HST result at Somnus Sleep Center is meticulously reviewed by a board-certified sleep medicine physician to ensure an accurate diagnosis. 2. Diagnostic Accuracy For many patients, an HST provides sufficient data to diagnose OSA and begin treatment. However, because home devices capture a specific set of respiratory data, they may not detect all sleep disorders. 3. Comprehensive Care If your symptoms are complex or your HST results are inconclusive, our team may recommend a follow-up in-lab sleep study (polysomnography). This provides a more detailed look at brain waves and muscle activity to ensure no underlying condition is missed. Is a Home Sleep Test right for you? > If you experience gasping for air during sleep or excessive sleepiness during the day, don’t wait to get answers. Sleep Study (Polysomnography)

NEW PATIENT Appointment What is a Polysomnography (PSG) Sleep Study? While home kits are available, a Polysomnography (PSG)—an in-lab sleep study—remains the gold standard for accurately diagnosing complex sleep conditions. Conducted at our state-of-the-art sleep center, this overnight evaluation provides the comprehensive data your physician needs to create a personalized treatment plan. An in-lab sleep study is essential for diagnosing disorders such as: Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA) Restless Leg Syndrome (RLS) Narcolepsy Periodic Limb Movement Disorder What to Expect During Your Sleep Study Entering a sleep lab can feel intimidating, but the process is non-invasive and designed for your comfort. Sensor Placement: A certified sleep technician will place small, painless sensors on your head, face, chest, and legs. Real-Time Monitoring: These sensors connect to a computer, allowing our team to monitor your vitals from a separate room while you sleep. Comprehensive Data: We track your brain waves (EEG), eye movements, heart rate, breathing patterns, and blood oxygen levels throughout the night. Note: You don’t need a “perfect” night’s sleep to get results. Even if you wake up occasionally, our technicians can usually gather enough data to form an accurate diagnosis. Understanding Your Results: The AHI Score To diagnose the severity of sleep apnea, we use the Apnea-Hypopnea Index (AHI). This score represents the number of “events”—pauses in breathing (apneas) or shallow breathing (hypopneas)—that occur per hour of sleep. Based on your specific score and the physiological data collected (such as oxygen drops and heart rate spikes), your doctor will recommend the most effective therapy, such as CPAP treatment or lifestyle adjustments. Ready to wake up feeling refreshed? If you’re struggling with daytime fatigue or loud snoring, a professional sleep study is the first step toward better health. Frequently Asked Questions About PSG Tests Do I need to sleep the whole night to get results? No. While a full night is ideal, we only need a few hours of recorded sleep data to identify patterns and reach a diagnosis. Most patients find they sleep better in the lab than they anticipated! Is a sleep study painful? Not at all. The sensors are applied to the surface of the skin using a mild adhesive or medical tape. There are no needles involved, and you can still move around or turn over in bed. Will I have a private room? Yes. Our state-of-the-art sleep center provides private, comfortable rooms designed to mimic a home or hotel environment, ensuring you feel as relaxed as possible. When will I get my results? Once the study is complete, a board-certified sleep physician will review the data. Typically, your referring doctor will receive the full report and discuss the results with you within 7–10 business days. Packing Checklist: What to Bring To make your overnight stay as comfortable as possible, we recommend bringing the following: Comfortable Sleepwear: Loose-fitting pajamas or a T-shirt and shorts. (Avoid silk or satin, as they can interfere with sensor placement). Toiletries: Toothbrush, toothpaste, hairbrush, and any skincare products you use before bed. Medications: Bring any routine medications you normally take in the evening or morning (unless otherwise instructed by your doctor). A “Home” Comfort: Feel free to bring your own pillow or a favorite book to help you relax. Change of Clothes: For the following morning.
